Challenges / Goals

Northwest Lien came to us with several pain points that needed addressing. Their website performed well amongst existing customers but was not driving new leads. The nature of their business is extremely niche, so they needed help improving their messaging and educating their potential customers. In addition, they wanted to expand their geographical reach but needed major SEO improvements in order to do so. In the end, their big goals were to improve organic search visibility and maximize leads. From a design perspective, they needed a more modern website that would accomplish all of the above and emphasize their “big” statistics and important services that they excel in, to gain the trust of potential clients.

Our Solution

Our approach was to create a highly informational site that was incredibly easy to navigate. The design would be clean, modern, and colorful. Big, bold calls to action, radically simple purchasing paths, and transparent pricing plans would make the site experience as straightforward as possible. Their customer base is extremely busy, so streamlining the purchasing process for new and returning customers was imperative. We created a design that cohesively showcased their brand and created a brand strategy that offered transparency in their business approach. This allowed us to build a site that improved leads and shows potential clients why they should work with Northwest Lien.

Our Process

We started with a new logo design. The existing Northwest Lien logo was outdated and relatively unremarkable. Creating the new logo gave us an opportunity to find a bold color scheme and typography guide that would support our website design vision. 

After that was finalized, we moved to website design. Our designer had a lot of creative control during this stage. We created a design that better related to the industry they serve through color scheme, imagery and graphics. The internal pages proved to be more complicated. The State Resource pages needed to hold a LOT of information, which made organizing that information in a digestible, easy to understand way, a big challenge. By simplifying the design of how this information was displayed and accessed by users we created internal pages that will provide major SEO value. 

After designs and content entry were complete, there came another big challenge in the form of Stripe e-commerce integration and user shortcodes. Our developer ported all the existing Gravity Forms over from their existing site, but a lot of work was required to make sure the forms and Stripe integrations worked properly. In addition, the site was meant to have a very different user experience for existing users versus guests. When a site visitor was logged in, they were to see personal messages, different calls to actions, order history, and more. With thousands of existing users, it was imperative that we transferred their data over correctly and their logged-in experience wasn’t diminished. But because of our stellar development team, this was accomplished without major issues.

The Result

At the time of writing this case study, the new website has only been live for 1 month. However, Google Organic traffic is already up nearly 10% year-over-year. But the big win so far has been simply catapulting Northwest Lien into the future with a high-tech, modern website. They have received excellent feedback from existing customers about the design and user experience of the new website. And with the improved website SEO, we expect that all the new users that will discover soon will enjoy it as well.
