With a loyal but quiet customer base, Xero Solar saw an opportunity to engage its current customer base, increase engagement with its customers, and keep its company top-of-mind for residential and commercial customers.

Customers with a positive experience with a business may recommend the services to another person on that fact alone — but that’s not always the case. Our email marketing strategy aimed to continuously engage existing customers to increase the likelihood of word-of-mouth referrals. This was achieved in two ways: our newsletters allowed Xero Solar to 1) stay top-of-mind for customers who have worked with Xero Solar in previous years, and 2) share educational content about customers’ solar systems, batteries, and the solar industry at large, providing additional value to them even after their initial solar installation project.

In addition to shortening overall email content to increase engagement, we prioritized a CTA-driven newsletter format to encourage audience members to interact with Xero Solar in various ways such as visiting the website or leaving an online review.
