Mother’s Day is Sunday – have you bought your mom a card yet?
We at Odd Dog are sending some love to our moms, telling them how much we appreciate them putting up with our silly antics over the years.
Dear Mom,
Remember that one time when I… decided that I was going to be the guinea pig for the quadruple bike jump and the outcome was…less than ideal. By “less than ideal”, I mean I sliced open my face and you had to ditch my 1-year old little bro with the neighbor so you could rush me to the hospital.
That was… obviously me setting a bad example for John as he not only followed in my footsteps but seemed to one-up my every antic. Not sure how you survived.
Good thing you’re… almost as stubborn as I am. 🙂
Happy Mother’s Day!
Love,
Merzo
Dear Mom,
Remember that one time when I… sprained my ankle and broke my nose all while you and dad were on vacation… you returned and your 12 year old son was on crutches with a swollen face.
That was… priceless.
Good thing you’re… good at identifying when I’m being facetious… at least most of the time.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Love,
Johno
Dear Mom,
Remember that one time when I… took a running start and jumped down an entire flight of stairs and snapped my leg in half during one of your parties? That knee high purple cast was PRETTY AWESOME.
That was… really indicative of the way I would approach life as I grew up.
Good thing you’re… so, so patient and accepting of having a red headed child.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Love,
Bug
Dear Mom,
Remember that one time when I… set the side of the building on fire where dad worked?
That was… freaking amazing!
Good thing you’re… a patient, loving mom, capable of dealing with just about anything that gets thrown your way.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Love,
Lee-Lee
Dear Mom,
Remember that one time when I… swan dived off your lap as a child and cut my lip open?
That was… kind of impressive if you think about it.
Good thing you’re… able to put up with the ever-more ridiculous things I throw myself into.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Love,
Chris Chris
Dear Mom,
Remember that one time when I… I used to regularly spike my younger brothers beverages with Tabasco sauce, and ruin his meal. This particularly effective when he used a sippy cup with a top, and couldn’t see what was in there…
That was… a stroke of genius.
Good thing you’re… a handsome little devil.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Love,
Magoo
Dear Mom,
Remember that one time when I… short-sheeted your bed. You and Dad got home late, went to sleep, and woke up to find your legs scrunched up in the folded sheet.
That was… not as funny to you as it was to me.
Good thing you’re… a patient mother who understands my foibles.
Happy Mother’s Day!

Throckmorton T. Tiddlywinks and Tottering Towers
Dear Mom,
Remember that one time when I… locked the babysitter out of the house in the Winter? Then proceeded to dump things from her purse into the toilet?
That was… quite the accomplishment for such a little guy. I mean clearly I outwitted, outplayed, and outlasted that babysitter. Should have put me on “Survivor”.
Good thing you’re… able to put up with anything I could throw at you. Even though I’m a little bit bigger now, and maybe smarter but who knows.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Love,
Bubba
Dear Mom,
Remember that one time when I… asked for a trampoline for Christmas and you got me a workout trampoline that sat about 6″ off the ground because you were scared I would get hurt?
That was… a perfect example of a time when I realized you would always watch out for me….so I guess I’ll forgive you for letting my younger siblings get a real one last year 🙂 I think it means I’m your favorite.
Good thing you’re… always leading me in the right direction because I don’t know where I would be without you.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Love,
Kenzie
Dear Mom,
Remember that one time when I… used to run around and make “pow” “bang” and explosive noises, acting out my super hero fantasies?
That was… AWESOME, because my imagination had no bounds and with ADHD. I was basically on full throttle imagination land. Plus, it’s been a huge asset in terms of my work as a advertiser/marketer doing creative strategy.
Good thing you’re… always a huge support and didn’t shelter me. You wanted me to take risks and see what happens. From a weird kid, to tri-athlete JROTC highschooler, to a graduating Marketer from the UW. Your support and willingness for me to make mistakes and risk, and learn from my failures has been the biggest catalyst that has allowed me to be…me.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Love,
Alejo
