That face. That face is the face of focus, adrenaline, fun and maybe an “oh *!@# I completely forgot about this part!” Let me explain.
Today I’m going to take a different approach to this blog post and give you a little bit of insight as to what I do outside of managing kick ass marketing campaigns. Without further ado….
I’m the type of person who gets bored easily. I need variety and I need excitement. One of the ways (yes there’s more) I achieve both of these is through hardtail mtb trail biking. There’s an abundance of trails out hear in the PNW so there’s my variety. And as if mountain biking didn’t contain enough excitement by hurling through a narrow trail on the side of a cliff, I like to do it in a racing environment called enduro racing. Over the last month, I spent the majority of my free time training for a 20+ mile race that contains nearly 4,000 feet of climbing. On nice days after work, I’d make the trek out to the mountains for conditioning and on days where it was not so nice out aka almost always here in Seattle, I’d saddle up on the stationary bike. Anyway, this past weekend was the the 2017 kickoff enduro race at Tiger Mountain hosted by Cascadia Dirt Cup and man oh man, was it exciting!
There’s an awesome atmosphere that’s created when a bunch of two wheel obsessed lunatics come together in a competitive environment. It’s filled with adrenaline, excitement, dogs littered all over the parking lots, strangers chatting, bantering amongst friends, good grub, great beers and just a feel good buzz floating around. This particular race for me was especially exciting as Odd Dog Media decided to “sponsor” me with some Odd Dog swag and covered my race fee. All in all, it was an awesome event and and I managed to squeeze out a 2nd place finish!
A big shout out to the CEO of Odd Dog Media, Adam Broetje for putting this video together!
